Chris Price has been appointed as the head of Music at BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, taking over from George Ergatoudis.
According to the BBC, Chris will work as the creative and editorial lead for the music policies of Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
Previously, he worked at the likes of Sony, Warner, Radio 1, MTV and BT. While working as a consultant, his most recent role was as head of music at Last.fm.
Chris said: ‘Radio 1 and 1Xtra's head of music is the greatest music discovery job on the planet. I'm thrilled to be joining the BBC to continue the incredible work it does breaking new music, as well as steering the networks’ music strategy into the next phase of its digital future.’
