Scottish producer and DJ Calvin Harris has scored his eighth UK number one with new single Summer.
According to the Official Charts Company (OCC), the track outsold previous chart topper - Waves by Mr Probz – by almost 7,000 units to take the top slot.
The song is the first release from Calvin’s fourth upcoming studio album and follows last year's chart success - he set a record after the ninth single from his 18 Months album broke the top ten.
Calvin’s previous chart topping singles include Call My Name, which he wrote and produced for Cheryl Cole, a remix of Spectrum (Say My Name) by Florence + The Machine and We Found Love with Rihanna which spent six weeks at the top of the singles chart.
Meanwhile, in the album charts Paolo Nutini is at number one for the third week with his latest full length effort Caustic Love.
The Scottish singer/songwriter scored the fastest selling artist album of 2014 when the LP debuted at the number one last month with sales of over 109,000 copies.
Blur frontman Damon Albarn is also new in at number two with his debut solo album, Everyday Robots. Imelda May has debuted at number three with Tribal.
