DJ and producer Calvin Harris has made chart history again after the ninth single from his 18 Months album broke the top ten.

Thinking About You, featuring Ayah Marar, reached number nine in the UK singles charts at the weekend.

It sees the Scottish producer and DJ breaking the record he himself set earlier this year when I Need Your Love featuring Ellie Goulding, entered the charts at number seven.

Michael Jackson was the previous record holder with seven top ten singles from his Bad and Dangerous albums.

Other singles from Scot’s album include the likes of We Found Love featuring Rihanna and the Florence Welch collaboration Sweet Nothing.

Calvin tweeted: ‘Made a bit of chart history today! Thinking About You went top 10 in UK ... the first time anyone has had nine top 10 singles from one album!’

The 18 Months album has sold more than 540,000 copies since it was released in October 2012 and has spent more than 40 weeks in the top 40 of the charts.

Calvin’s success comes at what the music industry is calling a bumper time for electronic music.

According to Official Charts Company data, released today by the BPI, sales of dance music acts have risen sharply to take their highest market share since 2006.
