British Sea Power to launch Sea of Brass tour

Indie rock band British Sea Power are to embark on a Sea of Brass tour in collaboration with brass bands from across the UK.

Indie rock band British Sea Power (BSP) are to embark on a Sea of Brass tour in collaboration with brass bands from across the UK.

The six piece group from Cumbria have worked with musical arranger Peter Wraight (Matthew Herbert Big Band) over the last two years on the project.

BSP will launch the project with a live show at Brass: Durham International Festival on 17 July and are planning on performing their favourite songs from a ten year back catalogue across the gigs.

The event has received funding from co-commissioners Brass: Durham International Festival and Barbican Centre London as well as contribution from all the partner venues.

The project has received further backing from Arts Council England and PRS for Music Foundation.

Thursday 17 July - Brass: Durham International Festival, w/ NASUWT Riverside Brass Band
Friday 24 October - De La Warr Pavillion, w/ Redbridge Brass Band
Saturday 25 October - Barbican Centre, London, w/ Redbridge Brass Band
Sunday 26 October - Sage Gateshead, w/ NASUWT Riverside Brass Band
Friday 7 November - Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry, w/ Jaguar Land Rover Brass Band
Saturday 8 November - Kendal secret venue *tour closing show*, w/ Ulverston Town Brass Band
