British Country Music Awards reveals 2019 nominees

The Shires, Ward Thomas, The Wandering Hearts and Twinnie are among the shortlisters announced for the 2019 British Country Music Awards.

The Shires (pictured), Ward Thomas, The Wandering Hearts and Twinnie are among the shortlisters announced for the 2019 British Country Music Awards.

The Shires and Ward Thomas go head-to-head in the UK Duo category, while The Wandering Hearts are up against Morganway, Backwoods Creek, Remember Monday and The Southern Company for the UK Band award.

Singer-songwriter Twinnie, who took part in PRS for Music’s country music songwriting camp at Abbey Road Studios, is tipped in the Best Female category.

Also in the running are Kezia Gill, Jade Helliwell, Emma Jade and Laura Oakes.

Twinnie also receives a nod for UK Song, for her track Better When I’m Drunk.

Elsewhere, Gary Quinn, Stevie O’Connor, Gareth Nugent, Danny McMahon and Jake Morrell are all nominated for the Best Male gong.

The 2019 British Country Music Awards take place on 9 November at the Concorde Conference Centre, Manchester.
