Calling all composers working across classical, jazz and sound art – the 16th annual British Composer Awards is now accepting entries in all 12 categories.
Anyone, including the composer, can enter, and submissions will be judged anonymously by composers, performers, conductors, promoters and festival directors.
Eligible works must have received a UK premiere, either live or broadcast, between 1 April 2017 and 31 March 2018 and been created by a British born or UK resident composer.

The deadline for entries is midnight on 9 July 2018 and the ceremony will take place on at the British Museum, London, on 4 December 2018.
In recent years, the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA), the organisation behind the event, has made several changes to the entry process, including introducing anonymous judging and allowing composers and sound artists to enter their own work.
This year, BASCA has replaced its Contemporary Jazz Composition Award with two separate awards to better reflect the wide scope of the genre. These are the Jazz Composition for Small Ensemble and Jazz Composition for Large Ensemble.
