Skepta, Kano and Christine and the Queens are among the shortlisted artists for The BRITs 2017.
The nominations were unveiled as part of a televised launch event on ITV on Saturday 14 January.
The list is notably more diverse than previous years with grime artists Skepta and Kano both against each other as British Male Solo Artist and British Album of the Year.
This follows an overhaul of the BRITS Voting Academy to promote greater diversity among the experts selecting the award winners.
Jason Iley, BRITs chairman said: ‘The 2017 BRIT nominations reflect a diverse and rich year in music both in the UK and internationally.
‘Huge artists from the past, present and future are represented. From pop, to indie, to grime, to rock; it's a brilliant and varied roll call of talent - a fantastic showcase for what's happening in music right now.’
Newcomer Rag'N'Bone Man has already been announced as the winners of the BRITs Critics' Choice Award. He was one of the highlights from the series of PRS Presents gigs at the PRS for Music offices in 2016. Watch our live session here.
The ceremony itself will take place on 22 February in London at the O2 Arena.
