British Sea Power, jazz musician Robert Mitchell and Talvin Singh will all appear at this year’s Bournemouth Arts by the Sea festival.
From 26 September - 12 October, the two week celebration of arts 'on the edge' will welcome a whole host of special commissions and UK debuts.
British Sea Power will take their audience on a musical journey by ferry round the islands of Poole Harbour before a performance on Brownsea Island with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet.
Robert Mitchell will debut Invocation, a cross-genre work featuring his quartet, the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus and local music students.
The season will open with BSO present Piano Virtuoso, an event featuring BBC Young Musician of the Year, Martin James Bartlett, performing Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.
Carol Maund, arts and festival manager, said: ‘There’s a great eclectic mix of art, literature, dance, music and family entertainment - this year’s programme is edgier than ever with some great premiers and really fantastic performances, I hope art enthusiasts and art lovers alike are equally as inspired.’
