Bloom.fm, the UK’s mobile music service, has now hit the 500,000 user mark.

According to the service, this milestone was reached during October and follows the company’s first brand advertising campaign.

Bloom.fm has also recently been launched as an Android app and received more than 100,000 installs in its first month on Google Play.

Statistics from the site showed that the service has attracted a young demographic with more than half of the app’s users (54 percent) under 25. A further 8/10 (83 percent) are under 35.

Oleg Fomenko, chief executive officer of Bloom.fm, said: ‘Reaching half a million users is a significant milestone. We’re giving mass-market music fans what they need - a fairly priced service that’s beautifully designed and enjoyable to use. This is a great start – we’re building a strong brand and we’ve got huge ambitions.’

Bloom.fm offers users a 22m track library, streaming radio and a local library player.

The app is also priced competitively, offering a £1 month mobile music subscription rate as well as £5 and £10 tiers.
