The Birmingham Conservatoire is to celebrate the viola with a dedicated day of performances and masterclasses.
According to organisers, all viola players from across all levels are invited to attend the event on Sunday 12 January.
Louise Lansdown, head of strings at Birmingham Conservatoire, part of Birmingham City University, said: ‘We’re delighted to be able to welcome professor Blazej Maliszewski from Gdansk in Poland to perform and teach on the day.
‘Conservatoire violists will be performing both solo and ensemble items, alongside discussions and master classes delivered by Robin Ireland, Rose Redgrave, Blazej and myself.’
The day runs from 11:00 until 18:00 with opportunities for musicians to take part in ensembles and masterclasses all day.
