EAGULLS, Big Narstie and Steve Mason are among the latest recipients of support from PRS for Music Foundation’s Momentum Music Fund.
The latest round of the initiative, run in conjunction with Arts Council England and Spotify, will award 12 new acts with backing.
Momentum provides grants of £5,000-£15,000 to help them take the next step in their careers.
Vanessa Reed, PRS for Music Foundation’s executive director, said: ‘Congratulations to all the songwriters and bands who've been supported following the latest deadline for Momentum Music Funding.
‘It's thanks to the huge array of talent in this country that each round of funding continues to be so competitive and to generate such strong results: for those who have completed their projects, £1 from Momentum is generating £7.46 for the music industry. I’m looking forward to seeing the latest artists benefit from Momentum and get to that next stage of their careers.’
Spotify’s association with the scheme means artists will receive access to tools, features and best practices that will enable them to connect with Spotify's 75 million active users.
The next deadline for applications to the Momentum Music Fund is 26 January 2016 via the PRS for Music Foundation website.
