Big Deal/BMG Chrysalis US will now publish Wilson’s new compositions and the back catalogue of his former band Semisonic.

Wilson co-wrote Adele’s smash hit Someone Like You and Dixie Chicks’ Not Ready To Make Nice, for which he received two Grammys.

The singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist first gained fame as the lead singer of the band Semisonic. Besides Adele and Dixie Chicks, he has also worked with artists including Weezer, Taylor Swift, Pink, Nas and Josh Groban.

Big Deal's Kenny MacPherson said: ‘Dan is clearly one of my favourite songwriters, and just happens to be one of my favourite people as well. It's great to be able to resume this relationship that's now lasted nearly 20 years.’

Laurent Hubert, president, creative and marketing at BMG Chrysalis North America, added: ‘Dan has the rare ability to touch music fans worldwide with his powerful, timeless songs. We are ecstatic about continuing the journey with Dan as he joins the BMG/Big Deal family.’

The Big Deal Music roster include My Morning Jacket, Ray LaMontagne, St. Vincent, The Afghan Whigs, Jim James, Sharon Van Etten, the Black Angels, Ethan Johns, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Missy Higgins, FIDLAR, Wye Oak, Birds of Tokyo, Underworld and Jonathan Wilson, and songwriters Brett Beavers, Tim James, Brad Tursi, John Ryan, Matt Morris and Matt Mahaffey.
