Bestival to host musical celebration at Goldsmiths

Isle of Wight’s Bestival is teaming up with Goldsmiths, University of London to host a one-day celebration of music and culture.

Isle of Wight’s Bestival is teaming up with Goldsmiths, University of London to host a one-day celebration of music and culture.

Taking place 17 June the event will see a mixture of live performances, workshops and conferences at the university with Mercury Prize nominated artist Ghostpoet, Rosie Lowe and Disciples all performing. DJ sets will take place from the likes of Rob da Bank, Goldierocks and Wired Radio.

Elsewhere, a series of free conference sessions will see MOBO’s Kanya King MBE providing a keynote address.

Other lectures and talks include Merging creativity: The job of being an artist, with Matthew Herbert, Staying creative in the music industry, with Rosie Lowe and Femme and From Bowie to Prince: Why losing our heroes hurts so bad.

The university’s very own cinema, Curzon Goldsmiths will showcase an array of music related films including the late, great Prince’s Purple Rain.

All seminars are free while live music requires tickets.
