Rob Da Bank is planning on expanding Bestival to include events in US and mainland Europe.

Speaking to the Telegraph, the festival founder and broadcaster confirmed he is due to sign distribution deals to launch Bestival events in North America, then Europe.

Rob told the newspaper: ‘The deal has been a long time coming. I’ve never been in this industry for the money but now I’m 40 with three small kids, it’s time to get business minded.

‘People think Bestival pours multi-millions into my bank account every year and it doesn't. That's not a sob story but now it's time to knuckle down a bit. My twenties and thirties were a total laugh but now I have to be responsible.’

This year’s Bestival will see the tenth anniversary of the event when it takes place on the Isle of Wight from 4-7 September.

Outkast, Beck and Nile Rodgers are among the headliners for the festival.
