Kwabs, James Bay and George the Poet are among the artists named in the BBC Music Sound of 2015 longlist.

The list, which looks to highlight the most exciting emerging musical talents of the next 12 months, was compiled from the tips of 140 influential music industry experts,

DJs, critics, broadcasters and bloggers were asked to name their top three favourite new acts from any musical genre.

Lapsley, Wolf Alice and Novelist were also among the 15 new talents featured in the list.

Huw Stephens, BBC Radio 1 DJ, said: ‘It's always an exciting time of year to take stock and look at what might be making us dance, cry and jump for joy into the year ahead.

‘I'm excited because there are a lot of artists I and my fellow DJs have supported on the list, and it's another great chance to share the music we love with an even bigger audience.’

Previous winners of the prize include Sam Smith, Haim and Ellie Goulding.

The top five acts will be revealed in January, counting down one each day from Monday 5 January with the BBC Music Sound Of 2015 eventual winner announced on Friday 9 January.
