BBC Asian Network is celebrating the music of Bangladesh in a special week of programming during December.
According to the broadcaster, a series of programmes, running 1-8 December, will discuss regional music scenes including Pakistan, Punjabi and Gujarati.
Nadia Ali, British-Bangladeshi presenter, will kick off the week with guests Bangladeshi singers Topu and FA Sumon both appearing on her show.
She will also visit an East London school with UK star Mumzy Stranger to give careers advice to school children as part of a different broadcast.
Mark Strippel, head of programmes for Asian Network, said: ‘BBC Asian Network has developed a strong platform for Bangladeshi music and culture over recent years, from our partnerships with the Boishakhi Mela, Oitij-Jo festival, Bangla Power 100 and a Season of Bangladeshi Drama.
‘We are witnessing a resurgence in British-Bangladeshi creativity, with artists supported every week on BBC Asian Network by Nadia Ali, and we aim to showcase the ambition and distinctiveness of artists of Bangladeshi origin in the biggest way possible.’
Mumzy Stranger, Jernade Miah, Zoe Rahman and Runa Leila will be among the artists appearing during the week.
