The Deal or No Deal? session aims to empower songwriters and composers to ask the right questions when negotiating their contracts and help them understand the legal pitfalls when things go wrong.

Featuring presentations and practical workshop, the day-long event will cover real life issues and case studies and offer advice on best practice.

Media lawyers Gill Baxter (James Ware Baxter Schoenfeld LLP) and Eric Longley (tax specialist from Prager & Fenton LLP) will host sessions and run the workshops.

Deal or No Deal? takes place in the PRS for Music Boardroom, 29-33 Berners Street, London W1T 3AB, on 18 October 2014 from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Lunch is provided.

Tickets are priced at £72.50 for the general public or £52.50 for members of AIM, APRA, ASCAP, BMI, BPI, MMF, MPA, MPG, MU, PPL and PRS for Music.

There is a cheaper rate of £37.50 for BASCA members, while students from Bath Spa University, Canterbury Christ Church University, Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Royal College of Music and University of the West of Scotland will be charged a student rate of £27.50.
