BASCA is calling on all jazz composers to attend a free event and meet its new Jazz Executive.
Taking place on Monday 15 June at Nash Theatre at King’s College, the evening event is a forum for jazz composers to come together to discuss professional concerns, needs and ambitions.
The new executive is chaired by Issie Barratt and features Jason Yarde and Ed Puddick among its nine members.
Vick Bain, BASCA chief executive officer, said: ‘BASCA is totally committed to establishing and maintaining a support network for Jazz composers, songwriters, arrangers and lyricists and is keen to host regular events.’
Issie added: ‘BASCA’s fast becoming a natural home for jazz musicians currently involved in composition, arranging and songwriting. There’s a huge wealth of experience and understanding gathered around the BASCA Jazz Executive Committee’s table. Becoming part of BASCA is a really important opportunity for the jazz community!’
