The Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF) has this week announced its six selections for the LIMF Academy’s prestigious class of 2018-2019, a programme intended for the support and development of emerging music talent in the Merseyside area.

LUNA, Kyami and Raheem Alameen, are among the artists chosen, with all three awarded the ‘most ready’ accolade given by the organisation. This accolade enrolls the artists on a year-long ‘elite talent development programme’ which offers advice, training, workshops, rehearsal time, financial backing and a much sought-after slot on stage at LIMF 2018.

Also chosen for the class of 2018-2019 were CAVEPARTY, Deliah and New Jnr – who along with their classmates will receive essential advice, financial backing and music industry support, including masterclass sessions from industry professionals, all with the aim of successfully launching their music careers.

The organisation, which prides itself on giving a critical platform for young Merseyside emerging talent, is now in its sixth year of curating and supporting the best emerging music talent in the area.

On the LIMF Academy, LIMF Curator Yaw Owusu said: The Academy continues to be a key indicator of potential elite talent and the actualisation of that potential. We are pleased to continue to play a part in the showcase and development of some of the most exciting emerging music talent in the city’.

All the artists selected for the class of 2018-2019 will perform at the LIMF Festival in Liverpool on 21 – 22 of July alongside Wiley, Rae Morris and Young Fathers in what is a huge line-up for the festival.
