Arctic Monkeys have been unveiled as headliners of this year’s Leeds and Reading Festivals.
Taking place 22-24 August, the event will see a huge number of acts descend on the twinned sites over the weekend including newly announced Courteneers, 1975, Royal Blood and Pusha T.
Blink-182, Jake Bugg, Disclosure and Metronomy are among the acts already unveiled for the festivals.
Matt Helders from the band said: ‘We’ve got a lot of history with the festival. It’s the first festival I ever went to – we all went together as kids, with Nick as well. We were 15 or 16 and it was a big deal going to a festival like that on your own.’
The Sheffield band enjoyed a stellar 2013 after returning with their latest album AM which was loved by critics and fans-alike, featuring highly in many end of year polls.
