Liverpool Sound City is urging new and emerging bands to apply to perform at the 2014 event and win the chance to support Jools Holland.
The festival, which takes place 1-3 May of next year, is a key event in the music industry conference calendar. Last year saw more than 300 new acts perform while organisers are promising sets from even more bands in 2014.
Bands and artists looking to play at the festival need to apply via www.liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk. Those who act now will also have the chance to win an opening slot with Jools Holland at his gig in Manchester on 7 December.
Alex Simmonds, marketing and ticketing manager, said: ‘We’re extremely excited to be planning for Liverpool Sound City 2014 and we’re definitely expecting big things.
‘Last year, there was fantastic response to our open band application process and we’re sure it will be even better this year. We’re looking for a very high level of talent and performance ability, we want something groundbreaking - basically, bands who could be the next big thing.’
Noah and the Whale, AlunaGeogre and Mount Kimbie were among the acts to play at this year's event.
Applications are invited from bands and acts from across the world with submissions needed by 31 January 2014.
