Annie Lennox has announced details of her seventh studio album, Nostalgia.
The album, which will be released on 27 October, will be a collection of standards made popular during the 1930s and 1940s by the likes of Bille Holiday and Louis Armstrong.
Annie decided on the tracklisting after hours spent researching the Great American songbook.
Commenting on the release, Annie said: ‘I thought, ‘I wonder what my voice would be like. Would these songs suit my voice?’ It was like a little challenge. I just sort of got to know them, became friends with them really and had a great deal of joy in the process.’
The music on the album was mostly played by the solo artist in collaboration with long-time co-producer, Mike Stevens
Nostalgia will be released by Island Records in the UK and internationally, and by Blue Note Recordings in the US.
