Anna Calvi, Sivu, LA Salami (pictured), Hejira and Gazelle Twin are among the latest wave of 19 artists to receive Momentum Music Fund support.

They are joined by 808INK, Abattoir Blues, Boston Manor, C Cane, Coco, Hardy Caprio, Hollie Cook, Jadu Heart, Let’s Eat Grandma, L-VIS 1990, Marsicans, Paris Youth Foundation, Rachel K Collier and Slick Don, who will each receive support for touring, recording or marketing their music.

Managed by PRS Foundation, the Momentum Music fund awards grants of £5,000-£15,000 using public funding from Arts Council England and support from PPL.

Spotify, the official digital partner on the fund, contributes additional funding and a reward package containing exciting promotional opportunities and close working relationship between Momentum artists and the Spotify team.

Mercury Prize-nominated Calvi said: ‘I am excited to develop my third album with the support of the Momentum Music Fund, and thankful for their support across creative musicians of all backgrounds and genres.’

Vanessa Reed, chief executive of PRS Foundation, added: ‘This is another incredibly talented group of independent music creators, who we’re proud to be supporting at pivotal moments in their careers.

‘As we celebrate the 16th round of Momentum funding, there’s no question that the UK is home to some of the world’s most original voices, it’s crucial that we enable them to realise their full potential.’

Since 2013 the Momentum Music fund has supported over 190 artists, over 85 new albums and more than 100 UK tours totaling over 650 UK live dates.

The recent impact report analysing the first three years of the fund revealed that every £1 invested by Momentum has generated £7.46 for the UK music industry.
