Hotly tipped electronic act AlunaGeorge have launched a new live music showcase for emerging talent at Westfield Shopping Centre in London.

Westfield Presents will host a programme of live music at both Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City running from July to September.

AlunaGeorge launched the showcase with a live performance this week ahead of the release of their much anticipated debut album, Body Music.

Future live shows from this new talent discovery programme will feature artists from The BRIT School, University of West London, Emerging Icons, Tech Music School, Universal Music and The Mayor of London Gigs Competition.

Technical students from The BRIT School will also help the events team at both shopping centres deliver the event programme.

Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, said: 'Westfield Presents is a fantastic addition to the capital's great line up of summer events. As well as providing free entertainment to shoppers it's a wonderful opportunity for up and coming musicians to play to new audiences and gain exposure and I'm pleased some our gigs artists will be taking part.'

All acts performing via the Emerging Icons music discovery platform will feature on a compilation released in collaboration with Westfield at the end of the summer.
