Alison Moyet to receive Nordoff Robbins award

Acclaimed singer songwriter Alison Moyet is to receive the Investec Icon Award at this year’s Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards.

Acclaimed singer songwriter Alison Moyet is to receive the Investec Icon Award at this year’s Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards.

Alison will join the likes of the Bee Gees Barry Gibb and UK rock band Coldplay in being presented with a prize at a ceremony at the London Hilton on 28 June.

Her career spans more than 30 years and includes numerous hits both as a solo artist and alongside Vince Clarke in electronic act Yazoo.

As a solo singer songwriter, all of Alison’s ten albums have charted in the top 30 with two taking the number one spot. Her music has been nominated for a Grammy and been awarded two BRIT awards.

Alison Moyet said: ‘I am honoured to be receiving the Investec Icon Award from Nordoff Robbins - a charity who use music to literally transform thousands of lives.

‘I’ve admired their work for many years and it feels really special to be recognised by them as an ‘Icon’.’

David Munns, Nordoff Robbins Chairman, said: ‘Alison is a true ‘Icon’. With a career spanning three decades, she is a huge talent and an inspiration to female singers and songwriters the world over.’

The Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards are set up by the charity to both honour successful music industry artists as well as raising money for its work transforming the lives of vulnerable people through music and music therapy.
