The cream of new UK grime and hip-hop talent – including AJ Tracey (pictured) and Yungen – will play BBC Radio 1Xtra’s showcase at SXSW, in association with PRS for Music and PPL.
Yxng Bane, Big Zuu and Silvastone complete the line-up, making the gig on Friday 16 March at the British Music Embassy, Austin, one of the most anticipated of the whole festival.
In addition to the BBC Radio 1Xtra night, artists from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will descend on Austin next week, many of which have been funded through PRS Foundation’s International Showcase Fund.

The hub of all British music activity at SXSW will be music venue Latitude 30 – the British Music Embassy – which will host six night-time showcases of hotly-tipped British music, alongside three daytime events. See the full British Music Embassy line-up.
2018 marks the 11th instalment of the Embassy, which is hosted in partnership with AIM, BBC Music, the Department for International Trade (DIT), DIY magazine, PPL and PRS for Music.
Highlights this year also include BBC Radio 1 and DIT’s showcase on Saturday 17 March featuring Benin City, Not3s, Suzi Wu, IDER and Superorganism.
BBC Radio 2 and PRS for Music’s gig on Wednesday 14 March with Gaz Coombes, Nina Nesbitt and Jade Bird also promises to be a big night.

Outside the British Music Embassy base, UK jazz artists will descend on the Main II venue on Wednesday 14 March for the Jazz Re:freshed Outernational Showcase.
Featuring a Moses Boyd solo set, plus performances from Ezra Collective, Zara McFarlane and Nubya Garcia, it boasts one of the strongest and most eclectic line-ups of the whole festival.
