The Association of Independent Music’s (AIM) Indie-Con is to return in 2016, offering insight into the indie label business.
Supported by crowdmix, the event will take place on 29 January 2016 and provide all the essential knowledge needed to run a successful independent music business.
Indie-Con 2016 sessions will include what’s new in radio? US performance visas and accessing the US market, how are artists making money in 2016? Running a small record label, fan loyalty: creating, maintaining and rewarding superfans as well as how to be an artist-friendly record company.
Music imdustry mogul Seymour Stein will also provide a special keynote speech to mark 50 years since he launched Sire Records.
Seymour will be interviewed by Tim Dellow and Toby L, founders of 2015 Independent Label of the Year Transgressive Records.
The line up of speakers also includes Tom Silverman, Tommy Boy Records founder, Sam Duckworth (Get Cape. Wear Cape Fly), Tom Robinson, BBC 6Music presenter and artist, BBC 6Music Benji Rogers, founder, PledgeMusic, Rhys Hughes, head of Programmes, BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, Robert Raths, founder of Erased Tapes and Geoff Travis, Rough Trade founder.
Open to both AIM members and non-members, Indie-Con will run all day on Friday 29 January 2016, with lunch and refreshments provided to delegates.
