Ben Lovett of Mumford and Sons will join the likes of speakers from Vice, Beggars Group, GRM Daily and Glastonbury Festival at the Association of Independent Music’s Indie Con 2017.
Taking place on 1 February at London’s Glaziers Hall, the event will see panels and sessions exploring all areas of the independent music industry.
Indie-Con is the only conference in the UK to focus specifically on meeting the business needs of independent labels and self-releasing artists.
Ben will give a keynote speech after enjoying a huge year in 2016. Mumford & Sons made groundbreaking moves with their sold-out tour of South Africa coupled with the release of the acclaimed Johannesburg mini-album. He also celebrated ten years of his independent label and live promotions company Communion as well as bravely bucking the trend for venue closure with the successful launch of a brand new grassroots venue and bar in London with Omeara.
Other panels for 2017 will include Cooking Vinyl Present: How To Achieve a Number One Album, UK Grime Explosion: Ripping Up The Rule Book, I’m With The Brand: Successful Brand and Music Partnerships and Live Recordings Are Great Promotion, Right?
Confirmed speakers include Alex Hoffman, global executive producer, Vice, Bronya Francis, product manager, Warp Records, Ben Challis, general counsel at Glastonbury Festival and Ineke Daans, live strategy manager, [PIAS].
Open to both AIM members and non-members, Indie-Con will run all day on Wednesday 1 February 2017, with lunch and refreshments provided to delegates.
