Afropunk is set to descend on South London this September for a week-long programme of music, workshops, DJ sets, film and more.
The global institution, which took over Deptford’s Printworks last year, is set to return to the capital with a packed programme celebrating multiculturism in music and creativity across all races, genders, colours and creeds.
Live music will come from August Greene (featuring Common, Robert Glasper and Karriem Riggins), plus DJs already lined up include Jazzie B, BBZ and local party-starters Born N Bread.
There’s also a programme of talks, workshops and film screenings in the works, plus food, art, style and the return of Battle of the Bands. More details are expected soon.
AfroPunk London takes place from 1 to 8 September at various venues around Brixton including The Ritzy, Pop Brixton, Black Cultural Archives, 198 Gallery, Electric Brixton, O2 Academy and the Department Store.
