Kim Moore, Mak Murtic and Chris Roe are among the emerging composers chosen for the Adopt a Composer scheme.
The scheme, which is now in its 13th year, is set up to support new composers by partnering them with voluntary groups.
Each composer will write a new piece especially for their partnered group as well as receive guidance from established mentors such as Colin Riley, Fraser Trainer and David Horne.
Robin Osterley, Making Music chief executive, said: ‘Making Music is very proud of Adopt a Composer, which has so far brought around 80 composers into adoption by voluntary music groups all around the UK, and led to a series of wonderful compositions, performances and experiences for everyone involved.
‘These have included choirs and orchestras, and also jazz bands, Scottish harp ensembles, a massed gathering of flutes and a steel pan band. We believe that new music and composers should be a regular part of the musical landscape within communities.’
Adopt a Composer is run by Making Music in partnership with Sound and Music, in association with BBC Radio 3, and funded by PRS For Music Foundation.

Michael Betteridge and Cobweb Orchestra
Jenni Pinnock and Quangle Wangle Choir (Dorset)
