Adele’s second album 21 is the biggest selling album of the decade so far, new statistics from the Official Charts Company have revealed.
New figures show that the singer songwriter’s album, the follow up to debut 19, has so far sold 4,751,000 copies in the UK.
Take That and their album Progress was second in the list - since its 2010 release the record has clocked up sales of over 2,374,000.
Michael Buble and his Christmas album have clocked up 2,216,000 sales since the start of the decade. The album spent three weeks at number one, has entered the top ten every year since 2011 and spent 31 weeks in the top 40.
Ed Sheeran’s second album X rounds out the top five after selling 2,134,000 copies since its July 2014 release. His 2011 debut, +, is just behind at six with sales of 1,958,000.
