Adele was the winner of five awards at the Grammys in Los Angeles including prizes for song and album of the year.
The 59th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held last night (12 February) at the Staple Centre in Los Angeles.
Adele received the prizes for Song Of The Year for Hello (Adele Adkins and Greg Kurstin), Record Of The Year for Hello and Album Of The Year for 25 (out in the US on XL/Columbia Records). She also won in the categories Best Pop Vocal Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.
The artist has won the first three prizes with her previous album 21. In winning best album, she became the second solo female act to win the category twice, following Taylor Swift's second win last year.
Adele beat US star and pre-event favourite Beyonce to take the prizes for best album and song. During her speech, she paid tribute to her, saying: ‘You move my soul every single day, and you have done, for the last 17 years’.
She also paid tribute to the late George Michael with a rendition of his hit Fastlove.
Elsewhere, David Bowie posthumously received five awards including Best Rock Song (Blackstar) and Best Alternative Album (Blackstar, out on ISO/Columbia).
