The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) is to host an attempt to break the world record for the longest drumming marathon.

According to the college, drummers will have to play continuously from midday on Wednesday 10 July until 10:00 on Saturday 12 July to break the record.

Organisers are hoping to beat the current record by four hours if the attempt goes according to plan.

The world record attempt is due to take place at Queen’s Roger Taylor’s Zildjian Studio at ACM’s offices in Guildford.

World-renowned drummers and ACM tutors such as Pete Riley, Mike Dolbear, Mark Richardson and Craig Blundell will take part in the ‘drummathon’ alongside ACM students and alumni.

The event has been organised by ex-ACM student, and Children’s oral health campaigner, Ian Aguado-Bush.

Those taking part will be supporting the Clean My Teeth campaign to raise funds for The British Dental Health Foundation, Heart Your Smile and Bridge2Aid.
