With her February 2024 album Featherweight, London singer-songwriter Rosie Frater-Taylor had one goal in mind.

'I definitely wanted to make a statement with this record,' she tells M. 'Featherweight brought me into new territory in terms of finding my own power and confidence.

‘Since my last album [2021’s Bloom], I've grown quite a lot as a person and a musician. Featherweight is an amalgamation of all of that growth, to the point where it makes me feel really powerful to play these songs live.'

An accomplished guitarist whose music criss-crosses the boundaries of jazz, folk, rock and pop, Rosie told us more about the positive response she’s received to Featherweight, as well as the recent work she’s done with Gibson guitars.

‘I launched the new Gibson Garage shop in London with Jimmy Page,’ she tells us. ‘Which is casual of me!

‘I was also on the cover of Guitar Player with Lenny Kravitz! It’s pretty insane when your music can take you to those places.’

Rosie is also full of praise for the support she’s received from PRS, saying: ‘PRS has always been something that’s necessary for me to do. I’m a songwriter at the end of the day, and all of my value, I think, is in the songs that I make.

‘It’s great that I own that and I can be making money from that on a regular basis. It’s often said that the goal is to be making money while you sleep, and PRS enables you to do that because they do all the hard work.'
