Here at PRS for Music, we love good music and good company.
Since 2017, our PRS Presents live series has played host to established favourites and up-and-coming acts, with everyone from Rag’n’Bone Man, Lady Leshurr and IDLES to Joy Crookes and Self Esteem gracing our hallowed stages. The summer 2022 instalment continues this long and proud tradition, featuring top performances from some of the UK’s most exciting acts.
Ditz kick off the evening with a blistering set. Their track Three, taken from their debut album The Great Regression, is a highlight, skewering performative activism against a heavy rock and roll backdrop.
Later, Los Bitchos rip up the rulebook with their cumbia-inspired instrumentals, blending the traditional with the very modern. Case in point is their track Lindsay Goes to Mykonos, a riff on the short-lived Lindsay Lohan reality vehicle Lindsay’s Lohan’s Beach Club, which celebrates the 2000s icon as she sets up life on the Greek island.
The final act of the night, Nova Twins, take the stage with crackling energy. As the crowd opens up before them they jump from the stage, bouncing through the audience to the buzz-saw riffs of recent single Choose Your Fighter. It’s a powerful ending to an electric evening, which brings with it the promise of many more to come.
