Citing influences like Yo La Tengo, Blur, Super Furry Animals and Grandaddy, the five-piece self-record their sounds between a decommissioned nuclear bunker and a spare room in their hometown – creating infectious bedroom psych-pop that is full of jaunty harmonies, wonky keys and melodic riffs to sink your teeth into.
BBC Radio 6 Music's Marc Riley has been quick to jump on their ace sound, inviting them to play on his show, while they've also had props from BBC Radio 1 and Radio Wales.
With a run of April shows in the diary, we thought it was high time they curated a playlist for us so we can get ever closer to the sonic world they inhibit.
Tune in below for Ben and llinos' picks...
Deerhoof - Milk Man
The first Deerhoof song I was introduced to. Still one of my favourites!
White Light/White Heat - David Bowie
A brilliant cover of a brilliant tune. We've played this version loads in the past and it's so good to play!
All You Need Is Hate - The Delgados
Perfect song and production!
Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile - Over Everything
Really well played, their voices work so well together.
Neil Young - Albuquerque
Absolutely love the feel of this recording, the band's on fire!
Teleman - Strange Combinations
Love the rhythm section in this band!
First Aid Kit - Fireworks
The voices! Has been on the radio loads recently, and has soundtracked painting and getting ready to move house!
Gorkys Zygotic Mynci - Hush the Warmth
The first Gorky's track I heard, and it's where my love for them started! Perfect!
Serge Gainsbourg - L'Hotel Particulier
Just love it; the feel of the bass and drums, and THE STRINGS!
Jan Terri - Losing You
A band favourite. It's our pulling-up-to-the-venue tune!
