Welcome to our latest M playlist. This week journalist Chantelle Fiddy compiles a choice selection of the best new R&B stars taking aim for the charts.

Last year belonged to Rudimental and Disclosure. Both artists released albums (Home and Settle respectively) distilling their favourite bits of underground electronic music. The records showed off fresh sounds which were as at home in the charts as the club.

Their success has paved the way for a new generation of British, R&B, electronic artists all with their eyes on taking on the charts and winning. Duke Dumont, singer songwriter Sam Smith and newcomer Route 94 are just three of the producers to top the UK singles chart with their pop/club friendly releases. With releases from the likes of Ella Eyre and Banks, even greater success is predicted for this new breed in 2014. Dive into Chantelle's playlist below and hear choice cuts from the above as well as Sampha, Kwabs and Julio Bashmore.
