Welcome to this week’s playlist, curated by Neil Pearson from the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS).
EFDSS is the national folk arts development organisation for England and works to champion the traditional arts of music, song, dance and storytelling. Neil works across an array of projects helping showcase these works.
Commenting on his selection, Neil said: ‘These 12 tracks focus on some of the artists we're currently working with, or who we've worked with over the past year or so, mixed in with a handful of classic songs and tunes.
‘There are three projects here that were supported by PRS for Music Foundation are the Elizabethan Session, the Cecil Sharp Project and the Full English. Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker and the Young 'Uns are attending Folk Alliance in Kansas City (February 2015) as showcasing artists with support of PRS for Music Foundation's British Music Abroad scheme.’
