North London singer songwriter Mega broke through back in 2018 with her single Chariot. Today she returns with her long-awaited new EP, Future Me.

Mega describes the release as, ‘A vulnerable exploration of my self-discovery journey’, and ‘a raw and honest expression of what it means to love and be loved.’

You can listen to Future Me in full below.

To celebrate the release, we asked Mega to make us a playlist for the weekend. Tune in.

Joni Mitchell - Big Yellow Taxi

Joni has one of the most interesting voices and writing styles that I have come across. So beautiful and delicate.

Solange - Cranes in the Sky

Other than the fact this song is incredible from the production and the melody, I love how she chooses to express herself

Maddison Cunningham - Pin it Down

Maddison is a breath of fresh air. She is a very interesting singer/songwriter and has a cool distinctive sound.

Nina Simone - Baltimore

I absolutely adore Nina Simone. Her voice cuts right through, and I believe every single word and every single note that she sings. She has taught me so much as an artist.

Ntjam Rosie - Space of You

This is a fresh find of mine - very vibey!

Aretha Franklin - Day Dreaming

Aretha Franklin's vocals are out of this world - one of my favourite voices ever!

Michael Kiwanuka - Tell Me A Tale

When I first heard this song I was mesmerised! And then I realised that myself and Michael have the same initials and we’re both Ugandan and I am a fan for life.

Jasmine Sullivan - Lost One

I do not know where to start with Jasmine. Her vocal ability is ridiculous, I just love this song.

Robert Glasper, Erykah Badu, Phonte, 9th wonder - Afro Blue

This song is SO cool and super vibey! Great collaboration of artists!

The Beatles - Blackbird

A classic tune! Superb writing - love the Beatles.
