Welcome to this week’s playlist, curated for us by top DJ Martelo.

This talented, globe trotting selector draws the dots between hip hop, UK garage and r&B as his NTS radio show and club sets ablu demonstrate.

Currently based in London, he’s been the international tour DJ for Santigold and has played sets all over the globe from Coachella to Summersonic (Japan) to Field Day (Aus) right back to Glastonbury. He’s opened for Jay Z and is now holding down a residency at the Basement club in central London. Check out his top picks from 2014 featuring choice numbers from the likes of Bok Bok and Redinho…

Skepta/JME - That’s not me

This is the undisputed grime champion of 2014 and yeah more so than German Whip! No dis. Just facts.

Krept and Konan - Don’t Waste My Time

This put South London back on the map for 2014 and the remix video brought French Montana to Peckham!! This one gets played nearly every time I play out!

Redinho - Sharp Shooter

The whole Redinho album is incredible but this is probably my fave club joint off it. He nails that retro futuristic shit while keeping it moving.

Lil Silva - First Mark

The homie Lil Silva is on his way to the top, this whole EP is some sick showcase as to how far he has come and where he is headed.

Future/Pharrell Williams - Move That Dope

This is on some dank gully shit and I’ve not stopped playing it. The tempo and rhythm mean it works really well over house/techno too so bonus points for that shit!

Chesus and Earl Jeffers - Elevation

Chesus and Earl Jeffers with the four to the floor THUMPER. This one is a roller and last time I played it the system cut out. #weighty

Bok Bok - Melba’s Call (feat. Kelela)

Bok Bok is another one who has shown crazy progression this year and the whole EP here is testament to the fact that he knows what he is doing and where he is going. Big up Bok Bok all day!

Matthias Zimmerman - Reginald

Zimmerman is one of my faves when it come to percussive bang out drum track shit. He just nails it. The EP was sick but this is my jam straight up.

Martyn/Four Tet - Glassbeadgames – 8 hours at Fabric

Hearing Four Tet play this on fabric’s one of a kind system at their birthday a few months back was unreal. Tunes like this that sound as good on a Sunday afternoon daytime as they do at 5am in a disused slaughterhouse are very #rare!!

Dub Phizix/Strategy - Buffalo Charge

BUFFALO! Dub Phizix and Strategy strike again, absolute club banger. No nonsense. The Manchester scene is on fire right now.
