Lovers of nineties R&B take note: new kid on the block, Jvck James, is destined for your headphones with his blissed-out sound...

After graduating from the East London Academy of Music just last year, the 19 year-old is already emerging as a strong soul talent.

Early tracks Extroverted Lovers and Easy instantly marked him as one to watch, while his stand-out live session for COLORS cemented his place on tastemakers’ radars.

With fans including the likes of Not3s and Wretch 32, he's been busy crafting his sound with producing talent including Scribz Riley (Khalid, Cardi B), Di Genius (Drake), 169 (Dave) and Dre Skull (Drake, Rihanna, Partynextdoor).

Fresh from supporting fellow one-to-watch Mahalia on her UK tour in October, Jvck's set to drop a brand new single next Friday (7 December).

Ahead of that, he's teased us with this seriously smooth playlist to kick start your weekend. Tune in below...

Mac Ayres, Jack Dine, Zach Berro - I've Always Been
This song is new soul at its finest. The funky guitar line over the lazy drums always gets my head knocking.

Rihanna - James Joint
I love how stripped back this song is. Just a crazy soulful synth progression and Rih’s dreamy vocal.

Anthony Hamilton - Everybody
This song takes me back to my roots. Guaranteed to hear this played at any family BBQ, gathering or function!

Kendrick Lamar, Bilal, Anna Wise, Thundercat - These Walls
I love Kendrick’s blend of jazz, hip hop and soul. To Pimp a Butterfly is one of my favourite albums of all time.

Moonchild - Show the Way
I love the grove and the soul!! Plus her vocals sound like warm butter.

Childish Gambino, Jhene Aiko - I. Pink Toes
Pharrell’s production is magical in this track! Very west coast.

Thundercat, Flying Lotus, Kamasi Washington - Them Changes
Thundercat is a beast. This is one of my go-to driving songs.

The Internet - Just Sayin/I Tried
A serious R&B head-knocking bop.

Destiny's Child - Free
I grew up listening to loads of Destiny’s Child. I fell in love with their crazy vocal arrangements and harmonies and literally studied them. The best to ever do it!!

D'Angelo - Really Love
D’Angelo is the GOAT.
