Welcome to our new playlist, this week put together by Soundcrash, the team behind the Funk and Soul Weekender.
Taking place at Camber Sands 12-14 May, the event sees a huge array of artists spanning the worlds of hip hop, funk, soul, electronica and more coming to the seaside to perform.
Highlights from this year's festival include the king of P-Funk George Clinton, hip hop originators the Sugar Hill Gang, UK legends Soul II Soul as well as a host of DJs such as Gilles Peterson and Mr Scruff all providing a soundtrack.
To mark the event, Soundcrash have been kind enough to put together a brilliant playlist, showcasing many of the artists performing.
Commenting, the team said: 'We’ve combined both the old and the new, showcasing the legacy of old school artists while also putting a spotlight on the new generation of funkin' good, soulful musicians. Give it a listen ride out those brass melodies through the eras of funk and soul.'
