‘A festival unlike any other, in a place like no other,’ claims the tagline on the Festival Number 6 website – and who are we to dispute their claim?
Set in the ridiculously chi-chi Welsh town of Portmeirion, built during the 1920s as an homage to Italian renaissance architecture, the festival offers kitsch faded glamour and amazing music in equal measure.
This year’s bill includes Jon Hopkins, London Grammar, Neneh Cherry, Pet Shop Boys, Tom Vek and Julio Bashmore, among many, many others, promising a fantastic end to a brilliant summer of sound.
We’ve put together a playlist featuring some of the wonkier acts to play, including Tune-Yards, BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Steve Mason, Laetitia Sadier and Bonobo. We hope you enjoy it!
