Paul McCartney – Ram On
I'm still quite new to McCartney's solo career, but this track and the album from which it is taken, Ram, are amazing. Hauntingly beautiful melodies and interesting production that still sounds fresh today.
Noname – Yesterday
I love Noname's Telefone album and this opener is just lovely. The track has such a warmth to it and every detail is perfect. Amazing chorus too.
Jerry Paper – Reprogram Ourselves
This song was my lullaby for a lot of nights a couple of years ago. There's something very comforting about Jerry Paper's music and the way he uses topics of technology in his songs is something I really like.
Broadcast – Goodbye Girls
I rarely make a playlist that doesn't include Broadcast. This is a really fun song from their brilliant Tender Buttons record. Conjures up images of being at a psychedelic Great Gatsby type party...or something.
Connan Mockasin – Momo's
Been listening to this track a lot recently, which features James Blake on vocals. The harmonies are really rich and there's a lot of light and shade in the chord changes, while still retaining that Mockasin smoothness.
Julia Holter – Feel You
Spent a lot of time with the album, Have You In My Wilderness, around the time it came out. The whole thing is really lush and ethereal, this opener being a fave of mine.
Beach Fossils – This Year
Some friends of mine have been into this band for years, but I only really ended up jumping on the wagon after they released their last album, Somersault. This is a good track for walking out of the house on a sunny day.
Late Of The Pier – Random Firl
Fantasy Black Channel, the only album LOTP released, is celebrating it's 10-year anniversary this year, so have been revisiting it. It's such a thrilling album and this is an especially sweet cut from it, I often play it in DJ sets.
