Sam Smith – Like I Can
BRITs winner and global superstar Sam Smith has a voice that can mesmerize audiences and his debut album really holds its own. He’s one my favourite artists at the moment.
Royal Blood – Figure it out
For me, theirs was the stand out performance at the 2015 BRIT Awards. They are a phenomenal live act, and a breath of fresh air. How they make that much noise with two people I don’t know!
All We Are – Feel Safe
I have had the pleasure of being a judge for the 2015 GIT Award, which is a Mersey based music prize. All We Are - one of the 12 finalists - are just brilliant.
SOAK – Sea Creatures
One of the best new tracks of 2015, from a very exciting artist. I’m looking forward to hearing more from this very promising young girl.
Little Simz - Time Capsule
A great track from this London-born artist. I’m predicting great things to come from her and am really looking forward to seeing her live.
The Charlatans – Come Home Baby
A great return from this amazing British band. I really love this single and the rest of the album is really good too.
Lucy Rose – Shiver
I have liked Lucy Rose for a while, but this song was used in an episode of the new series of GIRLS and has made me revisit all her work.
alt-J – Hunger of the Pine
I have followed alt-J for a long time now. They are one of those bands that keep getting better with each listen. This song is no different.
The Barr Brothers – Come in the water
I really liked this band when I first heard them at the end of last year. This is their new single from a great album, which is perfect for some chilled weekend listening.
Hozier – From Eden
Hozier is one of my favourite artists at the moment, I’m in love with his voice. His other record Take Me to Church has had a lot of attention, but this song is just as good and really strong lyrically.
