Post-punk quartet PINS have spent the past 18 months sharpening their sound and chipping away at the live circuit, riding a swelling wave of media hype in the process.

The Manchester outfit first popped up little over a year ago via a string of small scale EP releases, including a gold cassette through their own Haus of PINS label, and instantly ticked just about every box they could.

They’ve since played gigs in disused office blocks and hotel basements, recorded at Liverpool's legendary Parr Studios and toured with the likes of indie darlings Best Coast and Savages

We caught up with them ahead of the release of their hotly anticipated debut album Girls Like Us to hear what the girls had to say for themselves. They reveal the band they'd love to do backing vocals for and explain why they're so excited about their album release.

You can watch them perform the set's title track exclusively for M by clicking here.

Last year we featured the PINS track Shoot You on our Blogger's Tips Podcast, alongside Carnivals and Death At Sea - listen/download it here.

Girls Like Us is out through Bella Union on 30 September.
