Jon Tolley from Kingston upon Thames’ Banquet Records was one of the winners at the recent AIM Awards, held in London on 6 September.
Jon’s accolade was Indie Champion and there’s good reason why - he took over his retail outlet back in the mid-2000s and, alongside a close knit team at the shop, has made a success of the venture, arguably during a time when opening and running a physical record store has never been tougher. Not only that, but it's grown to include a club night and record label.
