Jealous of the Birds is the alter ego of high flying Northern Irish singer songwriter Naomi Hamilton.
Although still at university, she’s found the time to record, release and perform her own unique brand of alt-folk and indie-rock around the world.
Her debut album Parma Violets, released last year, delivered a perfect batch of deftly crafted songs, veering from stripped-down acoustic guitar tracks to full-band indie-rock anthems, all overlaid by Naomi’s compelling layered vocals.
The set won her much love from BBC Radio 2, so much so that DJ Jo Whiley invited Naomi to perform on her SXSW stage at the British Music Embassy last month.
We were on hand to find out more about Naomi’s new music, upcoming live dates and her love of all the American indie greats…
