Northern Irish producer, DJ, composer and recording artist David Holmes has had his fair share of career highlights over the years.
From scoring some of the last decade’s largest grossing Hollywood movies to his stints working with U2, Primal Scream and Manic Street Preachers, the boy from Belfast catapulted from Britain’s dance music scene to garner international acclaim.
Earlier this year, he scooped an Ivor Novello Award for his moving score to Yann Demange’s Northern Irish political thriller ’71, beating stiff competition from Dario Marianelli (The Boxtrolls) and Gary Yershon (Mr Turner).
Alongside his film scores, David has a neat line in electronic floorfillers and killer singles (My Mate Paul, Don’t Die Just Yet, Johnny Favourite) - and an ineviable way with a solo album, as proven by 2008’s The Holy Pictures.
Not content to rest on his laurels, he's just announced a new collaboration with TV composer Keefus Ciancia and songwriter Jade Vincent called Unloved. Their first EP, Guilty of Love, is released on 16 October and will be followed by an album in the New Year.
