The trained opera singer released her first EP Aching Bones through Label Fandango last year, to rapturous acclaim. It was produced by Ben Hillier (The Horrors, Depeche Mode) and has done much to stoke up interest in her forthcoming debut album Love Your Drum and Mad, due later this year.
Before the long-player, she will unleash the Dreary Town EP on 15 April through R&S Records' imprint Apollo. The EP will include the title track Dreary Town, which is the first song she ever wrote. It will be backed by her cover of jazz standard Cry Me a River and Bobby Heron, a song about her great grandmother's only son, who died at sea as a child.
Last week, she graced the stage of the 229 Club, London, for the latest PRS for Music Almost Famous showcase. We went along to catch her in action. Watch her fine performance of Dreary Town below.
